Theresa Andrews is an American former competitive swimmer and Olympic champion, born on August 25, 1962, in New London, Connecticut. She grew up in Annapolis, Maryland, and gained prominence as a national collegiate champion at the University of Florida. A backstroke specialist, she won two gold medals at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.

Andrews was a standout collegiate swimmer, winning six Big Ten titles and earning eighteen All-American honors. At the 1984 Olympics, she won gold medals in the 100-meter backstroke and the 4x100-meter medley relay. After retiring, she graduated and worked as a clinical social worker and vice president at Bank of America.

Andrews was the first Olympic medalist produced by the North Baltimore Aquatic Club. In 1987, she was inducted into the Maryland Swimming Hall of Fame and received the NCAA's Silver Anniversary Award in 2008.
