Roger Agache (August 16, 1926 – September 17, 2011) was a French archaeologist who was a pioneer in aerial archaeology in France.
Achievements
Agache directed research on Gallo-Roman agriculture and served as Director of Prehistoric Antiquities for Nord-Picardie. He authored over 200 publications and received several awards, including the Grand Prix National de l'Archéologie in 1983.
Fun facts
His doctoral thesis focused on aerial archaeology in Picardie, and he was elected a correspondent of the Institut de France in 1991. His aerial photographs are archived with the French Ministry of Culture.
