Luise Wilhelmine Elisabeth Abegg (1882-1974) was a German educator and resistance fighter against Nazism. Born in Strasbourg, she studied at Leipzig University, where she earned her doctorate in 1916. Abegg was known for her educational work and political activism, openly criticizing the Nazi regime.

Achievements

Abegg helped around 80 Jews during the Holocaust by providing shelter and establishing a support network. She was recognized as Righteous Among the Nations in 1967 and received the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in 1957. Her legacy includes a street in Berlin and a book dedicated to her by those she rescued.
